It's getting colorful. With Mono Clip and PB 0110.
The classic flatware Mono Clip looks back on over 50 years of history and is now experiencing its third birth. Designed by Peter Raacke in the early 1970s, Mono Clip was soon given the unofficial title of Mono picnic flatware due to its practical and functional design. Production was discontinued in the 1980s. Subsequently, the cutlery design once again became a cult object among connoisseurs.
Almost half a century after its first appearance and numerous customer requests later, Mono decided to bring Mono Clip back to the table and/or picnic blanket in 2021. In cooperation with the bag label PB 0110, the cutlery was to become a design accessory for on the go. Three years after the successful liaison between the two brands, Mono Clip PB 0110 is now back - in two new colors!
One etui, two colors, three pieces of cutlery
The leather case designed by fashion designer and artist Ayzit Bostan especially for the collaboration is handmade by a family-run manufactory in the neighboring Czech Republic. In Belgium, the leather was previously vegetable-tanned by a traditional company dating back to the 19th century. This tanning method not only creates optimal conditions for the further processing of the natural product, but also makes it significantly more sustainable and biodegradable by avoiding the use of comparatively harmful chromium salts.
And now color comes into play: For the first time, the leather case of this cooperation set comes in two strong colors. The muted olive green shade reflects calm and friendliness, while the deep navy blue is said to have a positive effect of clarity and serenity. Two harmonizing shades that add an atmospheric accent to any individual picnic arrangement.
The case has space for three Mono Clip cutlery items - knife, fork and table spoon - made from high-quality stainless steel in the Mono cutlery manufactory in Mettmann. The concave handles and the rounded, wide shape are central design elements of Peter Raacke's cutlery design and ensure a pleasantly smooth feel.
The set is complemented by a high-quality napkin made of white half-linen. Wrapped up and securely closed with the two practical press studs, the “picnic cutlery” is ready for the next adventure.
