The Mono cutlery of the 21st century

Mono V is the first completely new cutlery concept from our manufactory in over 20 years. At the beginning of 2020, we contacted Berlin designer Mark Braun with this ambitious project. The idea: a new Mono cutlery set - resource-saving use of materials, easy to produce, highest quality standards, timeless aesthetics and made in the Mono manufactory in Mettmann. In 2022, the time had come: Mono V was here to stay.

In 2023, the new product won two gold awards. Both the jury of the German Design Awards and the jurors of the iF Awards presented Mono V with the highest possible honor. This was reason enough to plan new additions to the Mono V family and expand the series with serving spoon, salad servers and a lemonade spoon.

Salad Days with Chelsea Turowsky and Mono V

On the occasion of the addition of serving spoon, salad servers and a lemonade spoon to the Mono V cutlery family, we contacted chef Chelsea Turowsky. A few weeks later, she invited us to her studio in Berlin Wedding and surprised us with three salad creations.

Chelsea is an American artist and chef. She lives in Berlin and works with food and text. Having spent a decade studying poetry in San Francisco, Chelsea's work is heavily influenced by nature and bold, fresh flavors with subtle, refined notes.

Since 2018, her studio in Berlin has been active as a food and beverage consultancy as well as a catering and event company. Her latest project is an event space in her cooking studio, where Chelsea and her team host omakase dinners and offer private rentals.

As a lover of salads and stainless steel, it was a great pleasure for Chelsea to work with Mono.

Cook Chelsea's recipes with the Salad Days Zine

Chelsea's three salad recipes and Ina Niehoff's pictures have been turned into a small cookbook designed by Nina Flaitz.

On 32 pages, the preparation of the salad dishes is explained step by step, while you gain further insight into Chelsea's work and philosophy.
